At GAVS, innovation is key, and innovation can happen only when there is diversity in ideas. The management believes that promoting a conducive work environment for women is critical for business success. Our flexible approach in terms of timing and leave, and other support structure has resulted in women employees taking up greater responsibilities.
We believe that diversity at the workplace translates into diversity in perspectives.
Studies suggest that women have an upper hand in terms of empathy, communication skills, patience, systematic, and understanding customer markets. Ability to multitask makes women effective team managers. This enables diverse thought processes and approaches to the problems. To augment these attributes, we have programs that celebrate women at GAVS, through #IAmValued.
Role model Series is a Quarterly Roundtable with Women where they get to hear stories of leaders in the industry and ask questions. This enables them to understand the industry perspective, while they prepare themselves to take on greater roles within GAVS.
Women representatives within the organization take continuous dipsticks to enhance the existing guidelines and create newer platforms. ‘’Gal Pals’’ are identified who enable fellow women colleagues’ transition while joining, during maternity, post maternity, work place relocation, or any other personal milestone that requires them to balance their responsibilities, based on the similar transition the GAL PAL has been through.
Half Yearly pulse surveys are done to understand the changing requirements, to design programs to promote diversity.
Women are also encouraged to participate in hackathons and tech fests.
To create a more supportive workplace, we have initiative many workplace wellness programs, like Meditation, Yoga, and informative sessions on health and nutrition, to name a few. We also invite doctors on campus to encourage women to focus on women’s health and wellness. The primary objective of Women’s wellness is to educate women on their health choices.
Telecommuting options, bloom room for maternal antenatal care also enable wellness for women.
